On 2nd of December, the world celebrates the annual Computer Literacy Day, an initiative that began in 2001 to celebrate how far we have come with technology.
Technology has become an important part of our daily lives, ingratiated into every aspect of our routines from entertainment to communication. Much of our work routine also depends on technology and digital media, making it an integral addition to our curriculum. The future depends on digital technology and our future is our children – which is why we must make them aware of the power of this new innovation and arm them with the tools of the trade.
According to UNDP statistics, at this very point in time more than 64% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 30 and 29% of them are aged between 15 and 29. We are a nation running on young blood and it is important for us to understand their potential and make it shine through.
It should also be understood however that most of this youth does not have access to these curriculums or proper digital and technological education. A majority of our children live in impoverished areas and come from the undeveloped and uneducated strata of our population. GET Youth’s initiative understands this intimately and has made sure to target these children who are not being given the opportunity to unleash their true potential by offering free workshops on digital technology and IT-based education.
This World Computer Literacy Day, GET Youth saw an opportunity to promote IT-based academia to these impoverished areas, teaching basic IT learning to the range of children gathered there. We are arming them with the tools of the trade and special-needs schooling. Since its inception, GET Youth Trust has successfully provided training and education to 3500 students from economically-challenged backgrounds. These projects covered government institutes, private schools and institutes, slum schools and NGOs, amongst other establishments.
We hope to spread IT awareness everywhere around in Pakistan so we can match up with the upcoming technology trends of the world.

If we want to grow exceptional children specially those who are disabled and facing any kind of mental illness then there are some key features they must be familiarized with

• Accepting responsibility

• Motivation
• Seeing possibilities where others see problems
• As complacency and personal power cannot co-exist, so Self-care.
• Teamwork- these kids must understand the value and importance of other people hold in their lives
The degree which has merit and has something to be prized is the worth and the value ascribed to something. For humanity as a whole and for parenting these values are very precious and influence all the attitudes and behaviors that effect the decision of a child. But what about those parents who remain mentally disturbed all the time due to the mental torture their children face?
Though there are many such platforms that can cater to the needs of such kids but GET Youth is one of the unique and outstanding manifestos that ensure the parent that their kids are highly being cherished and loved. The optimal levels of frustration gets down when they are acquainted with the latest trends of education- IT (information technology) starting from very basic to the highest.

What is Girls Empowerment?
Girls Empowerment is define as the equal distribution of rights among women in a society. Equal share in resources and a life where they can stand up for themselves against the odds in a society. Through centuries women were considered as a weak end of a society but this concept changed in the early 20s. Women of today are well aware and practical.

Importance
The success of a society depends on how much the women of that society are empowered. How is justice served and whether the rights are being reserved. So, Girls Empowerment is a term which is used commonly but this term is portrayed in a very negative way. If you educate a woman you educate an entire nation. Women constitute almost half of world’s population and are historically responsible for developing future generations. In any society regardless of the culture and beliefs, women empowerment is highly essential. It is because women bring a unique talent, different ideas and sensibilities at the workplace. So, women economic empowerment needs to truly grow and sustain. The easiest way to achieve it is through education. We need to teach women about gender equality, the rights they deserve and the fact that women’s emergence in a society can do wonders. GET Youth is an organization working for the betterment of roles played by women in our society. They motivate, encourage and increase the strength of women socially, economically and morally. The increase in literacy rate of Pakistani women will ultimately benefit the transformation we all wish to see. Like, through girl empowerment program there will be less domestic violence it will create more awareness. Through education women will be able to tip in making money and having a fair share of house hold will slowly uproot poverty because of proper distribution of wealth. They will also be able to showcase their talent and outshine through their exceptional skills. Women empowerment is also important when it comes to bring peace and justice in a society. When women are equally armed to fight against the wrongs then it will be easy for a nation to raise its voice single handed or as a community.

GET Youth successfully is running girl empowerment programs with a soul purpose of creating awareness, defining gender roles, breaking stereotypes and motivating young girls to learn about their rights and stand up for themselves. This process for women empowerment is only possible if the initial stages are all about gaining knowledge, getting education and spreading it. Women empowerment also strives to morally encourage women to come forth and play their part as a very important part of the society
