Because customers seek faster and better telecommunications services, Pakistan is preparing to launch 5G mobile phone connectivity in September 2024.
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications is working on a solution. They will employ an international consultant to assist with the initiative, form a committee to steer the development of 5G in Pakistan and develop guidelines for auctioning the 5G spectrum. To decide how to conduct the auction, they will look at what has worked in other nations such as Bangladesh.
They aim to enhance the telecom sector before conducting the auction. They must deal with ongoing judicial challenges about spectrum distribution and provide incentives for telecom operators to participate in the auction.
They will also make it easier to open Letters of Credit (LC) and lay fiber optic lines in order to improve 5G.
